Didn't Kenton work for Nigel and Elizabeth during the holiday period. Nigel then took him (an employee) on the roof with not so much as a hard hat. He later took David up onto the roof in even more dangerous circumstances. OK - not an employee but on company business.

I've just had the builders in dealing with a flat roof about fifteen feet up. The scaffolding bill was horrendous, but necessary for very sound Health and Safety reasons.

If Nigel had lived, say in a wheelchair, they'd have prosecuted him. If it had been David who died they'd have locked Nigel up and thrown away the key. Elizabeth is a partner in the business, who knew all about the proposed trip up on to the roof - she merely disagreed with when it was done. H&S could still prosecute her.

GOSH. Is Elizabeth in trouble? Is it Lizzie! who gets arrested?

The following link might be of interest

Nigel and Kenton talked about a lot of things putting up their banner. I don't think a risk assessment was included.

I teach evening classes in a design and technology classroom (not mine). My Health and Safety Risk Assessment runs to three pages.

Thinking of all the points made in response to this story line, one has to wonder if it's a point that's occurred to VW or the writing team.

    Or

The Archers is now a soap, where plot takes priority to reality and real people.
