That was a great episode (Wed. 7th Dec.) Sharon told Pat some home truths, and Pat's own harsh words to Sharon all those years ago have come back to haunt her with a vengeance. Really enjoyed the drama AND it was a triumph of continuity for those of us who may have felt at the time that Pat was wrong to speak to Sharon so severely after John's death when she met her again. Yes, Sharon was depicted as rather a 'good time girl' in those days, but surely John had a mind of his own and hadn't just been entrapped in the coils of a seductress!
Pat can be rather judgemental (I remember her unfeeling remarks about Greg after his suicide, even though she'd suffered from depression too!)

Yes ...Pat's character has changed a bit in recent years - she's still the no nonsense Pat Archer I love - but she's now a gushing Grandma and has really shown her emotional side since Henry/e-coli/ and now Rich. I agree with you - it was a fabulous episode - I too enjoyed the drama and emotion of it all!

And now I'm just beginning to feel a certain sympathy for Pat---despite all her flaws (I really think she should have supported Tony more when he had misgivings re. Helen's decision to have a baby) she has been through the mill!
