A while ago i asked if anyone had any memories of the 1950s Archers play, since then i have had some luck, with programmes and photos, but i still need to confirm cast members and theatres, so if you have any programmes, cuttings or indeed memories please contact me, last time i mentioned that Arnold Ridley played walter Gabriel well how about Gretchen franklin as mrs P - thanks

Hi - It would help if you could give more information about the particular play you're looking for. There were several productions in the 1950s and 60s

Good point, the production is the one that was produced by Ralph Birch & John Barratt, it ran from sept 53 (Birmingham) - and ended June 1954 (Luton)this tour visited about 40 theatres, but i have to admitt KP i have not heard about the 1960 play, is this the same one from the 1950's, about the Holiday camp. thank you

Hi I have a programme for the Theatre Royal Birmingham Week commencing &th september 1953 Yes Walter Gabriel was played by Arnold Ridley but Mrs P is Gwen Nelson. If you want any more news of it I will try and find a way to send you a scanned copy. Is there a way to send private messages in the blog ton pass on emails?
