  Hi - The idea is that you won't miss out if you don't listen but it will enhance your pleasure if you do!

  Well...here goes!! I quite liked it....nice to see a bit of rebellious spirit in the youngsters of Ambridge!! Most of them only seem to be following in their parents footsteps (they got up to no good from time to time as I recall!).....didn't like that theme tune much though!!

  That music - it's like the Archers theme played on some infernal machine which dwells in the Grand Halls of the Unholy Moloch (AKA Vanessa Whitburn, just kiddding)....
  
  As a committed Archers fan I will take all the extra Archers I can get. It's a bit harsh to start criticising before the stories have got underway, but I have to say the Uni story is making me feel a touch queasy already.
  
  I am very happy for more Archers though, and look forward to seeing what happens on here.

  It may be too soon to judge so I will give it a little longer but first impressions were that it needs to improve. I thought the first omnibus was low-grade drivel written by people who took the lazy option and presented the youngsters as a load of promiscuous drunks. Alice showed no reluctance to cheat on Chris despite her upbringing but what an example she has as a father which may explain it and that guy she was with was absolutely repulsive. This is promising to be like a cheap trashy TV soap which is why I am without a TV. Wilde once said that all of us are in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars. The rabble who wrote this tripe probably think that the stars only appear on computers, or phones, next-the-zero and hash. This was trash or promises to be so and if it doesn't improve it won't enhance my pleasure (sorry Kathy but I'll just switch off) and if the main programme goes that way I'll do the same with that after over fifty years.

  I did listen to the first Ambridge Extra. I thought it would be a great addition to TA. After that I forgot about it, such was the impression it made on me. I thought I would listen to the omnibus. After fast forwarding through most of it and hearing how Alice had lied to the police etc. I switched off and wont be listening again. TA is enough. I don't think I want to know anymore....As they say "Too much information!".

  Hi Ambridge Extra was commissioned as a pilot programme for Radio 4 Extra. It will be back for another couple of months in September and then a decision will be taken as to whether or not it will become a permanent feature. Glad you enjoyed it and will pass that on to the production team KP x

  As I recall they had an omnibus on Sunday but it wasn't available as a podcast, only the 15 minute episodes were.
  The only downside to this, for me, was the annoying theme tune came round all too often when listening to a few episodes together..

  I personally loved AA, it was nice to get that bit if extra insight into some of the characters. I am cpunting down the days until it starts again

  Mabel's sister apparently passed away recently, and Alan,Usha and Amy went to the funeral, as she had no children of her own, Alan was asked to sport out her stuff and found the letters from Catherine in amongst them. Hope that fills you in Portia

  The latest series of "Ambridge Extra" finished last week. I hope another series is in the pipeline and that Ambridge Extra will be back before too long!
  
  Presumably some of the storylines that have featured in the latest series of Ambridge Extra will be referred to in the main programme. Already we have had a cryptic remark from Shula that Alastair is very good at keeping secrets!

  The new series of Ambridge Extra is scheduled for transmission on 3rd July at 2.15pm. It can be heard twice weekly for ten weeks, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, on Radio 4 Extra
