Noticing Christine struggling to get an old armchair out of her front door, Jazzer comes to her aid. Grateful for his help, Christine makes Jazzer some toast. Jazzer is on a downer following his defeat at the Flower and Produce Show, so Christine suggests that he attends the comedy evening at The Bull. Jazzer mentions that he’s still looking for a new flat mate. When he asks Christine to write him a reference, she says that she’ll do anything to help him.
Back at the Walters’ house, Darrell is feeling terrible about what he’s doing for Matt. Arthur is worried about the floorboards being up and wants the job done as soon as possible. Later on, Arthur is shocked to find more floorboards up in the bathroom. When he asks for the hallway floorboards to be put back down, Darrell says that it is simply not possible for the time being.
Mike rings the Aldridge’s to set up a meeting. He later goes round to explain that the baby has Down’s syndrome. Shocked, Jennifer and Brian have a cup of coffee and recollect the amniocentesis Jennifer had all those years ago. Brian and Jennifer agree to give Mike and Vicky their full support, for Phoebe’s sake.
