Matt and Lilian are back from Paris. Matt is keen to get back to work, but Lilian tries to tempt him back into bed. Once Matt has gone, Lilian turns on her phone to find a string of worrying messages.

Ed is pleased that Emma has brought him some sandwiches, but not so pleased when he discovers they’re fish paste. Emma makes it clear that she’s equally unimpressed with his attitude.

Lilian goes to the Walters’ house but finds no one at home. Their neighbour, Eileen, reveals that Joyce had a bad fall. Lilian goes to the hospital where she finds Arthur. He explains that Joyce has a fractured hip. Lilian takes Arthur home and he shows her the state of the floorboards. She promises to get them fixed.

Will has surprised George with a new pet guinea pig. Emma is annoyed that Will didn’t discuss the ides with them first. Will offers to keep it at his house, but Ed rejects the idea, as he doesn’t want George to prefer being there. Nevertheless, Emma worries about the cost.

A heated argument ensues when Lilian confronts Matt about the Walters’ house. Matt doesn’t take any responsibility for the problem, blaming Darrell instead. A furious Lilian tells Matt she’s taking over the job to ensure that it is done properly.
