Christine and Jill bump into Jim. He compliments Christine on her most alluring perfume, which puts her in a flap. Christine tells Jill that, much as she likes Jim, that’s as far as it goes. He’s never complimented her like that before, and she’s worried that he’s started to get the wrong idea.
Tom’s anxious to know whether Helen has heard back from Kylie. When Kylie finally returns Helen’s call, Helen tells her about Tony’s heart attack, and how intensely Tony feels about Rich. Helen asks Kylie to speak to Sharon. She wants the opportunity to see Sharon and explain how they all feel. Helen hopes to persuade her to let Rich know about his other family.
Helen tells Tom that, at Ivy’s funeral, Kylie realised that she’d missed out on knowing her grandma, making her sympathetic to Helen’s request. Kylie also admitted that Rich is interested to know more about his real dad, so she’s going to speak to Sharon for them when the moment is right. Tom’s delighted, but they both know it’s out of their hands; the rest is up to Kylie.
