Mike tells Kenton that Roy and Hayley miss him at Lower Loxley. They’re still adjusting to Phoebe being away too. Mike reckons Elizabeth must miss him too.

Kenton calls in at Brookfield to ask if he can store some of his magazines in Ruth and David’s attic, but they refuse. Ruth and David are busy clearing the barn, ready for the harvest supper on Sunday. Kenton heads to Lower Loxley with his boxes. Elizabeth is happy for him to keep his magazines there. Kenton stays for a catch up with his sister.

Bert is in The Bull, giving a curious Rhys a history of Clive Horrobin. They discuss the many terrible incidents he was involved in, including arson attacks, armed robbery and burglaries.

Mike is waiting to hear whether he’s got the job on the green burial site. David joins Mike just as he hears he’s been successful. He offers to buy Mike a pint to celebrate.

At the bar, Rhys is still gossiping about the gory details of Clive’s various crimes. David finds no humour in the situation and insists it’s not the subject for tittle-tattle; there are still too many victims in the village.
