Telling Ed all about Caroline’s woes at Grey Gables, Oliver senses that something else is on his mind. Ed confesses he’s concerned about George who is spending a lot of time with Will recently. Ed wants to make sure that George and Keira get the chance to bond at home. He wonders whether to put his foot down. Oliver encourages Ed to do what’s right for his family.
At The Bull, Nic and Shula discuss the upcoming Single Wicket competition. Nic mentions the menu she’s planning for Clarrie’s special birthday dinner. Ed interrupts to ask Nic for a chat. He’s concerned about recent changes to George’s routine and would like George to spend more time at home with Keira. Nic agrees to mention this to Will, who is furious when she does. Put out, Nic explains that Ed only has George’s best interests at heart. She also reassures Will that George won’t feel rejected just because he’s not with them so much.
Jill remarks that Meriel will be 10 years old tomorrow, reflecting on how fast time flies. She notices that Elizabeth is distracted. Elizabeth admits she’s worried about the future of the falconry enterprise at Lower Loxley as it’s failing to pay its way. After checking the figures, Elizabeth admits that despite the project being Nigel’s ‘baby’, the birds have to go for the sake of the business.
