Enjoying each other’s company, Jim tells Christine that he’s won the honour of switching on the lights at The Bull. This means he’ll be starting off the Christmas light switch-on around the green. For a moment Christine is reminded of Christmases past. She’s already decorated with some greenery, but Jim offers to put up Christine’s lights and says he’ll fix her guttering while he’s up there.
Lynda’s determined that the Village Hall will be wonderfully decorated for her Cabaret Night, so Robert roots through the loft for lights. An old plastic walrus that’s been there for years gives Lynda an idea – she’ll hold a table decoration competition. Jim turns up unexpectedly to see Robert; he needs advice from someone who knows his way round a toolbox.
Pat shows Kathy the Facebook photo of Rich. Kathy admits that he does resemble John, but points out that it’s only one photo taken at one angle. Kathy worries that it might all too much for Pat. Pat, however, can’t see how she can stop herself from thinking about the boy every second of every day. Later on, throwing herself into work, Tony worries that Pat will wear herself out. Pat can’t see any other way of getting through the whole day without screaming.
