  Listened to tonight's episode and thought the twist was very good, however where does the nickname come from? Did Rich choose it or did Sharon hoping 'Rich' would be one day! Good for Pat though as she managed to find out Rich's full name - useful if she wants to make contact in future - that's if a happy ending is not planned before Christmas!

  Guess the nickname came from Sharon's maiden name - Richards! Can't believe she told Pat his full name! I also wondered about him picking up on the atmosphere!

  Don't worry - I never use 'fanatic' - always 'fan' so I don't think it would matter if you want to use it but thanks for the message anyway! I'd forgotten Sharon's maiden name was Richards - so maybe Rich would have been John Richards at birth!

  Like Osprey said, it was surprising that Sharon was so forthcoming with Rich's true name (and surname) - either she's naive and doesn't think Pat is internet savvy, or she couldn't resist rubbing salt in her wounds. Whatever her reason, I'm sure Pat will relive the whole meeting in her head many times over in the small hours and I don't think she'll be able to just let things go. On the other hand, it may just be a handle for a storyline in years to come - Archers writers probably have more patience (and are younger!) than Pat.

  I would have thought that a normally intelligent lad of twelve years old certainly WOULD have picked up on the atmosphere. Sharon told Pat that they would tell Rich/John about his grandparents when he asked. Are they now going to lie to him, if so, beware, he may not appreciate this when he is older. 'Who WERE those people Mum/Dad? How do you know them etc etc.' I actually think now this has been done, it would be better for them to tell the truth, rather than try to put the genie back in the bottle and deprive him of a relationship, of sorts, with his loving grandparents. Helen and Tom won't be too pleased, of course, nothing new there! Chalet School Girl

  Pat found Rich/John on Facebook and so it should be easy enough for her to become one of his friends and presumably that will be her next move.

  Couldn't agree more "Let it Drop". I've only ever posted one comment before on here - it was about those lot. The stuff they all get into is just so ridiculous that I signed up especially to make a comment (about the nonsense of Lillian lending them ten K to pay some supermarket 'penalty clause') when the biz was supposed to be in such dire straights! Utter nonsense. The producer must allot certain character-groups (eg: the Bridge Farm lot) to different writers ... and those who do that lot just haven't got a clue. Everything they seem to get up to is in story-line cloud Cuckoo Land!! (Upper-middle class girl having fatherless, artificially inseminated pregnancy, for example. Ridiculous notion.) BTW (Bazin) she found "Rich"* on Kylie's FB page. So, difficult (I would think) to be a 'friend' of Rich, from there. *... Or is'nt it "John"? OMG! I'm going to be sick ...

  I could really do without the Pat and Tony saga too. Helen gets all her won way, and everyone has to cow tow to her - baby and all! Yes, a bizarre twist to everything. Tom and that Kirsty ought to be banished to a far away pig farm in Siberia. Why don't they all just 'get a grip' and get on with their lives? I really don't blame Sharon after the way they treated her. That family shove everyone about and there expect them to forget all the horrible things they say. When I hear Helen cooing over Henry my heart sinks. She is a patronising so and so. End of rant. Prog must be good if it gets me like this!
