The primestock show at the new market is in progress. David acknowledges the facilities are outstanding, but can see that the competition’s hot. Ruth gives their steer a final brush, assuring David he’s done his best.

Clarrie takes over while Joe gets a hot drink. She’s doing well with mistletoe sales, and Eddie hopes for some decent tips.

Brian is anxious, especially when he hears a buzzing from the electrics. Annabelle reassures Brain, pointing out how well they’ve done.

Ruth is considering switching to another processor in order to get a better deal. Sadly their steer doesn’t win anything; David knows a rosette would have done wonders for their sales. An optimistic Ben reckons they’ll prove the judge wrong when they get tons of orders for their Christmas beef.

Brian and Jennifer toast the perfect launch. Jennifer notices an article about Joe in the newspaper. He’s certainly made the most of the electrics failing. Jennifer’s confidant that next week’s story will be about today’s fabulous opening. Brian remarks that Pete Wilkes still hasn’t got back to him about supplying feed. He’ll have to ring him next week. Jennifer tells Brian he jolly well won’t: they’re going on holiday, and that’s that.
