Tasters for 23rd-28th September 2012
While Ed and Emma struggle to balance the books, we take a look at who’s cooking the accounts in Ambridge this week…
Ed and Emma are seriously strapped for cash, but it’s a poor heart that never rejoices. Can they overlook their penniless state long enough to enjoy Ed’s birthday, and can they keep young George in the manner to which he is accustomed? Not his brother’s biggest fan, Will believes a fool and his money are soon parted. To Will, cash is king, and pauper Ed is in no position to raise his son - he’d lay money on it.
A run for your money
They say money talks, and we all know that Matt’s not afraid to splash the cash, but what exactly is his message? Can money buy Matt happiness or secure Lilian’s love, and at what real cost? With funds tight at Amside, cold hard cash may not be enough to keep Lilian his, and her heart for his capital seems a poor exchange. Lilian should remember that all that glitters is not gold…
Elsewhere in Ambridge… Joe can’t find his dentures for love nor money: Fallon gets a free night out: Christine persuades Jim to put his money where his mouth is: with money burning a hole in Vicky’s pocket and her income about to dwindle, Mike knows all too well that money doesn’t grow on trees. It’s on the money… It’s The Archers!
Tune in for a surprise on Tuesday when romance is in the air, and secrets will out on Thursday…

Tuesday: Fallon wants some fun
Wednesday: Lynda looks ahead
Thursday: Will has cause to worry
Friday: Lilian lets go

Tasters for 16th-21st September 2012
While Fallon looks forward to her comedy night at The Bull, we wonder whether laughter really is the best medicine for the folk of Ambridge this week...
There’s funny business at the Flower and Produce Show, but it’s no laughing matter for our bakers who have made the subtle art of bread making into a serious competition. Will we get a rise out of Jim, and can Jazzer cut the comedy long enough to make the perfect loaf? Only time will tell… Meanwhile, it’s no laughing matter over at Willow Farm, where Mike continues to scrutinise his future. Family and friends do their best to reassure him, while Vicky attempts to turn Mike’s frown upside-down.
Funny business
Matt seems to think that a rich man’s joke is always funny, but Darrell is rapidly losing his sense of humour. As the madness continues at the Walters’ house and profits slip from Matt’s grasp, Darrell finds Matt’s strategy about as funny as a funeral - the monkey business has got to stop! And talking of funny business, Adam can’t wait to put an end to his secret, but will Pawel get the last laugh?… It’s The Archers!
Tune in on Sunday for the biggest event in the Ambridge calendar… the Flower and Produce Show! Plus, it’s comedy night at The Bull on Thursday.

Tasters for 9-14th September 2012
With Tom searching for a kitchen to work on his ready meals, Ambridge is cooking up a storm this week…
Believing his goose to be well and truly cooked, Mike is consumed with panic. Vicky, however, is thrilled to have a bun in the oven and ready to give her baby all the care and attention it needs. While Mike wants to take things slowly, believing too many cooks might spoil the broth, Vicky wants to tell the world and get preparations underway. Debate gets heated between them, as Mike sees their situation as a recipe for disaster, but you know what they say – if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!
Food for thought
Elsewhere, Darrell continues to live hand to mouth, praying he earns enough to feed his family. Matt’s going to start cooking the books if Amside doesn’t prove more profitable, and could the lovely Lilian be losing her appetite for her tiger? Freddie’s hungry for excitement, but has no way to feed his appetite, while Pawel is relentlessly hungry for more. Determined to get a rise out of Lynda, Jim goes to great lengths to perfect his bread recipe, while Lynda proves she has the recipe for success. So what’s cooking?… It’s The Archers!
Don’t miss Friday’s episode, when there’s an intense heart to heart…
Sunday: Brenda looks to the future
Monday: All change for Darrell
Tuesday: Jamie’s caught out
Wednesday: A blast from the past
Thursday: David faces the lion’s den
Friday: Mike confronts his fears

Tasters for 2nd-7th September 2012
With Lynda seeking to protect a mighty Ambridge oak this week, we get to the roots of events in Ambridge…
Having lost his father and, more recently, his girlfriend, Jamie is feeling rootless and suffering from a severe case of growing pains. Keen not to let the grass grow under his feet, Jamie’s ready to branch out, but Kathy wants to tie him down to college. Perhaps it’s time he turned over a new leaf or, like Jack, should he follow his dreams, climbing that beanstalk and pursuing his wish to become a tree surgeon? Whatever happens, let’s hope he has a head for heights and, for his mother’s sake, a safety net…
The root of the problem...
They say money is the root of all evil, but Matt was a pretty bad boy to begin with! Well aware that money doesn’t grow on trees, Darrell casts his gaze further afield. A carpenter at heart, he hopes to use his skills to make like a tree and leave (!). Meanwhile, Mike cannot see the wood for the trees. He feels stuck up a gum tree and it’s making him giddy. Vicky holds out an olive branch and we all touch wood in the hope that she and Mike don’t grow apart. Elsewhere, Eddie thinks George is a chip off the old block – well you know what they say, great oaks from little acorns grow - and the Pargetter family tree comes to the fore as young Freddie attempts to follow in his father’s footsteps. Turns out they’re a little too big and he’s got some growing in to do… it’s The Archers!
Don’t miss Sunday, when drama unfolds, and things get hot under the collar at Honeysuckle on Thursday!
Sunday: Roy to the rescue!
Monday: Freddie’s fed-up
Tuesday: Tom gets food for thought
Wednesday: Darrell’s on the defensive
Thursday: Lynda lets on
Friday: Pawel parties on
Barking up the wrong tree: Pawel
Rooted to the spot: Mike
