48 light bulbTasters 26th November – 2nd December 2011

As the nights draw in, we all seek the warmth and light of a cosy fireside to banish the shadows and warm those dark winter evenings…

Initially glowing with pride about the grand new market, Brian is soon plunged into a dark mood. Will he get a black mark from the BL board, and will the warmth of the Maldives brighten him up? Jennifer certainly hopes so. Meanwhile Pat shares her light bulb moment with the family. Helen is scared of returning to a dark place, the rolling mists of time taking her back to a disturbing moment in her life. Is shining a light on the past a bright idea, or are such matters better left undisturbed in the shadows? It may be a shot in the dark but, at the moment, Pat’s obsession eclipses all else.

Lighting the dark

Lynda’s mood has lightened considerably since redesigning the Christmas show. She’s positively glowing as the exotic menu develops and recruitment goes well, but can she find a leading light in Ambridge? One thing’s for certain; no one will be allowed to hide their light under a bushel if Lynda has anything to do with it! It’s all sweetness and light… It’s The Archers!

Tune in for an emotional moment on Sunday, and news breaks on Tuesday…

Sunday: Pat’s in the picture
Monday: Nic turns fairy godmother
Tuesday: Brian’s in the dark
Wednesday: Tony changes tune
Thursday: Jennifer puts her foot down
Friday: Mike’s in trouble

Kept in the dark: Tom and Helen
Shining a light: Pat

14 working overtime

Tasters 20-25th November 2011

As Christmas fast approaches, the residents of Ambridge are running out of time this week…

Times are a-changing at Bridge Farm as the re-brand gets under way. Hopefully it’ll be ready before New Year when it’s out with the old and in with the new. While Tom and Helen embrace this new beginning, time hangs heavy for Pat. Thoughts of Richard crowd her mind, casting Pat back to a time when her beloved son, John, was still alive. Will she risk upsetting peace in the present to get closer to the past? Only time will tell…

How time flies

Meanwhile, Clarrie and Eddie celebrate times gone by with a special party at The Bull. It’s a race against time for Lynda as she cranks up this year’s Christmas extravaganza – let’s hope the residents of Ambridge have enough time to get involved. Susan is pressed for time, stretched as she is between two households, while Jim’s time may be up at Woodbine Cottage. Far from looking forward to some time off with Jennifer, Brian is pressed by present concerns as he tries to prove his worth to the board, but there just aren’t enough hours in the day. It’s 7:02pm, it’s time… it’s The Archers!

Head to The Bull on Monday (but don’t tell Eddie and Clarrie – it’s a surprise!) and there’s a surprise visitor for Susan on Wednesday…

Sunday: Looking to the future
Monday: Celebrating the past
Tuesday: Donning the frock
Wednesday: Home sweet home
Thursday: A cry for help
Friday: Sage advice

In the nick of time: Nic tries on her frock and Clarrie gets baking for the wedding
A race against time: Susan struggles to get things done & Brian battles for business
Lost in the mists of time:
Pat is trying to find her way back to times gone by…

46 family

Tasters 13-18th November 2011

As the Archers congregate for Peggy’s grand party, it’s a family affair in Ambridge this week…

Tension is palpable at Peggy’s family lunch, but can Lilian pull it off with a quick game of musical chairs? Tony can’t sit next to Jennifer, Brian’s cross with Lilian, and don’t even mention Leonie! Still, it gives us all a taste of Christmas to come as families gather together to share the joy of the festive season and wind each other up in equal measure…

It runs in the family

As Pat’s family rallies round for Operation Re-launch, Pat’s head is firmly in the clouds. However, while she may be neglecting the family around her, she has nevertheless got family matters at heart. Since the black sheep’s return to Ambridge, Susan is struggling to keep her family together. Doing everything single-handed, it’s becoming clear why Ivy was so worn out! Meanwhile, as Nic knuckles down to wedding preparations, the bonds strengthen between her and soon to be mother-in-law, Clarrie. And talking of the ties that bind, Eddie and Clarrie look forward to celebrating their own special anniversary… it’s The Archers!

Bagsy your seat at the party on Sunday and tune in on Friday to hear Pat’s latest hunch…

Sunday: Happy families?
Monday: A cry for help
Tuesday: Decisions, decisions
Wednesday: Gifts aplenty
Thursday: Head in the clouds
Friday: A seed is sown

Like mother like daughter: Susan follows in Ivy's footsteps
Big brother: Could Brian be getting too big for his boots?

45 fireowrks

Tasters 6-11th November 2011

With bonfires blazing and fireworks flashing, things get explosive in Ambridge this week…

Filled with frustration, Brian is on a short fuse. He must have stood too close to the bonfire as he’s burning with rage. The mega-dairy is turning into a real hot potato; Adam should watch out, or it’ll be him up there instead of the guy! Hopefully the cold weather will cool things off before matters get explosive at Home Farm…

Like a roman candle

Meanwhile, Tony has a light bulb moment which might brighten the future of Bridge Farm. Like a roman candle he’s all lit up - could he have found a way to light the family out of the darkness of the past few months?

Elsewhere, while Nic gets busy planning her wedding, Jennifer does all she can to make sure Peggy’s birthday isn’t a damp squib. Mind you, that could be preferable to the big bang that might happen if she and Tony sit anywhere near each other - we predict fireworks! If only they could be sweet as toffee apples instead… it’s The Archers!

Don’t miss the fireworks on Thursday as the Horrobins gather for Ivy’s funeral…

Sunday: What’s in a name?
Monday: Keeping the distance
Tuesday: Musical chairs
Wednesday: Home sweet home
Thursday: A dark day
Friday: The big pitch

Sparkler: Soon-to-be-married-Nic
Flare: Brian and his temper

44 Halloween

Tasters 30th October - 4th November

With Hallowe’en on the horizon, things take a spooky turn this week…

The horror hasn’t faded for Adam who is still aghast at Brian’s beastly behaviour. Shame Adam’s not a bat as he’s been well and truly kept in the dark! Now the lights are on Adam doesn’t like what he sees and, like all the best horror films, we predict a messy ending! Meanwhile, Jennifer faces the hair-raising prospect of a family dinner. Will it resemble Peggy’s vision of the Waltons, or be more like an Addam’s family get-together? A mortified Jennifer as Morticia, the ghoulish Brian as Gomez, Uncle Tony/Fester, Pugsley/Tom, Wednesday/Helen, and James and Leonie - horrors in their own right…

Happy Hallowe’en!

Elsewhere… Nic resists becoming a bridezilla while Will hopes the wedding will exorcize any last feelings he may have for Emma. Clive continues to cause panic, Susan’s as tired as a zombie, and things take a macabre turn for the Horrobin family. Tony’s horrified by Tom’s approach to branding, still haunted as he is by traumatic events at Bridge Farm. It’s enough to scare you witless… It’s The Archers!

An event shakes Susan on Monday and Nic makes plans on Thursday…

Sunday – Adam’s horrified
Monday
– A shock for Susan
Tuesday
 – Emma explains
Wednesday
 – Ed looks ahead
Thursday
 – Words of warning from Will
Friday
 – Jennifer’s afraid

Trick: Adam feels like he’s been duped
Treat: Nic looks forward to her big day
