Tasters for 21st-26th April 2012
It’s out with the old and in with the new this week in Ambridge, but the old appears reluctant to release its steely grip…
While Tom plans for the future, Tony remains entrenched in tradition. A creaking dinosaur, Tony simply refuses to jump on the new-technology-social-networking bandwagon (or should that be futuristic hovercraft?). While Tom attempts to single-handedly propel Bridge Farm into the modern world, Tony hangs on to the old ways for dear life. Meanwhile, a prudent Peggy draws on her many years of experience and reflects on the need to move with the times.
The times they are a changing
The arrival of Nifty Ifty signals a new beginning for the cricket team and causes quite a stir. Girls – yes, girls – are not constrained to simply serving tea, but are actually allowed on the cricket pitch. Is it possible that the world of cricket could be catching up with the rest of the world? Surely it’s only a matter of time… Meanwhile, Adam and Brian fight the same old battle but, this week, Adam shows a fresh concern for his step-dad’s well being. Elsewhere, Jill feels nostalgic for times gone by, while Amy enjoys the thrill of a shiny new relationship and hatches plans for a rosy romantic future. It’s that time again… It’s The Archers!
Listen in on Wednesday for a surprise with more to come on Thursday!
Sunday: Ian gets interested
Monday: A day to remember
Tuesday: David plays detective
Wednesday: Carl shows his colours
Thursday: Usha keeps schtum
Friday: Ruth rallies
Innovator: Tom, Ifty

Tasters for 15-20th April 2012
Ambridge is divided this week and hostilities commence as BL’s plans come to a head…
It’s time for the folk of Ambridge to nail their colours to the mast this week, ready for the mega-planning meeting on Tuesday. An outspoken Pat and Ruth, rarely backward in coming forward, are happy to hand over to a new spokesperson who wages a war of words against the proposal. A battle weary Brian continues to fight his corner, but the opposition looks strong. It takes a Herculean effort to keep it together and the tension is starting to show. Mustering his troops, Brian reminds them that, if you want peace, you must prepare for war… and at least the DVD may have helped his campaign.
Divide and rule
Elsewhere, Robert tries to teach Leonie that all’s fair in love and war, but she wants to be victor of the spoils; Alan wants to meet Carl, but realises he’s fighting a losing battle; having been in the wars, Tony struggles to keep up at Bridge Farm; knowing that an army marches on its stomach, Jill gets cooking to maintain morale at Lower Loxley; and Lynda and Lilian have to be separated after a spirited squabble… It’s The Archers!
Don’t miss the mega debate on Tuesday and meet the famous Carl on Friday…
Sunday: Pat prepares
Monday: Jennifer looks on the bright side
Tuesday: Brian battles on
Wednesday: Lynda plays the blame game
Thursday: Susan gets there first
Friday: Alan’s anxiety’s assuaged
Victorious: Tom?
Defeated: Tony?

Tasters for 8-13th April 2012
The residents of Ambridge are on eggstatic form this week, but while some need egging on, others worry about getting egg on their faces…
Determined not to put all his eggs in one basket, Tom pushes on with developing the Bridge Farm brand. Like a little chick he’s always tweeting, but Tony thinks Tom’s over egging the pudding with all this new technology. Meanwhile, over at Brookfield, Ruth’s still hopping mad about the dratted dairy project. Luckily Brian (used to living with Jennifer) knows that he who wants eggs must endure the cackling of hens. Reluctant to kill the goose that lays the golden egg, BL board members are also edgy about the project and, with the Environment Agency report pending, Brian feels like he’s walking on eggshells. Can he pull a rabbit out of the hat? Only time will tell…
As sure as eggs is eggs
Elsewhere, Fallon gets in the mood with a rather fetching bunny outfit and Pip’s being a good egg, helping out with the milking at Bridge Farm. As families come together to celebrate Easter, tempers (and people) fly. Robert worries about Leonie and James, but Lynda knows you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. It’s eggscellent… It’s The Archers!
Celebrate Easter with The Archers on Sunday and listen in on Thursday as a new voice comes to Ambridge…
Sunday: Tom tweets on
Monday: Leonie takes to the sky
Tuesday: Usha gets going
Wednesday: Brian makes progress
Thursday: Jim’s back on form
Friday: Ruth’s hopping mad
Good egg: Pip
Rotten egg: Brian?

Tasters for 1st-6th April 2012
As Winter releases it’s icy grip and Spring takes hold, change is in the air in Ambridge this week…
It’s all change at Brookfield as the Archers get ready to welcome the long awaited new slurry tank. Does this signal a change in their fortunes? Ruth and David hope their change of approach with calving could secure the future of the farm, for when the next generation is ready to follow in their footsteps. Talking of the next generation, Chris is also ringing the changes, forging ahead with his brand new business.
Times are a changing
As the BL board’s feet turn to ice, plans for the dairy look set to change, but Brian resolutely sticks to his guns. However, proving that he isn’t entirely immune to change, Brian actually remembers to buy Jennifer an Easter egg this year! Meanwhile, Adam hasn’t changed his tune; the stick-in-the-mud is praying for a miraculous sea change, despite (or perhaps because of?) the damage it’ll do to his sister’s plans.
Meanwhile, over at Bridge Farm, Tony struggles to accept a change of pace. Tom is charging around and champing at the bit to revolutionise Bridge Farm, but he doesn’t want to upset the apple cart/yoghurt crate. Talking of change, Tony’s brush with death has left him a changed man. He’s determined not to grumble and has a fresh positive outlook, but how long will it last? They say a leopard can’t change his spots. Plus ça change… It’s The Archers!
Don’t forget the PC meeting on Tuesday, and listen in as Chris gets ready to christen the forge on Thursday!
Sunday: Amy tells a secret
Monday: Brian needs buoying up
Tuesday: Tony give thanks
Wednesday: Pip pushes on
Thursday: Chris gets hot under the collar
Friday: Jazzer confesses all
Change over: Tom and Tony
Short changed: Adam and Harry
Changing tack: David and Ruth
