With Darrell spending all his time at the Walters’ house, there’s a lot of banging and crashing in Ambridge this week as the folk of Ambridge do it themselves…

Matt clearly isn’t familiar with the phrase, ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’. Looking for a quick fix for the dilapidated Amside, he makes Darrell work his fingers to the bone wrecking, I mean repairing, the Walters’ house. Matt’s certainly breaking a moral code, but he needs to be careful - once the cracks start to show he may find them hard to cover up. Let’s hope he doesn’t crack under the strain!

Beyond repair?

Meanwhile, Fallon tries to renovate the social scene at The Bull, giving the old place (and her own life) a bit of a makeover. Harry, however, seeks more than just a new lick of paint. Ready for a complete change of scene, Harry’s leaving Jazzer to manage without him – and without his rent. Who will Jazzer find to share his home sweet home? And who will repair Fallon’s broken heart? (It’ll take more than superglue!)

Over at Willow Farm, Mike and Vicky have taken a bit of a hammering lately. Hopefully they’ll be able to paper over the cracks once the dust has settled. With a strong foundation built on love, surely they can endure whatever comes their way? Mike feels like he’s in a fix and ill-equipped to deal with the situation. More at home talking about chainsaws than children, he doesn’t have a tool belt for this one!… it’s The Archers!

Head to The Bull for a lock-in on Wednesday and it’s results day for Mike and Vicky on Thursday…

Sunday: Fun-time Freddie
Monday: Lilian lends a hand
Tuesday: Ed eeks it out
Wednesday: Fallon forges ahead
Thursday:  Vicky’s vexed
Friday: Darrell begs to differ

Fixer: Lilian
Broken: Emma’s piggy bank

7 heart cloud

Tasters for 19-24th August 2012

Relationships are complicated in Ambridge this week, but we hope that love will find a way…

They say all’s fair in love and war, but Adam feels hard done by his arch nemesis, Brian, who gets mixed results from his tough love approach to fatherhood. Working at the farm used to be a labour of love for Adam, but the love’s been steamrollered out of it as he and Brian clash horns. There’s not much love lost between them as frustration on both sides undermines their father/son relationship. Meanwhile, the usually self-righteous Adam is on the backfoot having betrayed the love of his life. They say love is blind, so perhaps Ian can overlook Adam’s transgression?

Love begets love

Elsewhere in Ambridge… Love seems to have taken on a confusingly triangular shape for Fallon… Mike supports Vicky as best he can… Jamie’s unlucky in love, but while one door closes another may be opening… and Matt’s love of money makes him play a mean game. Lord love a duck… it’s The Archers!

It’s Ian’s birthday on Sunday, and tune in for Eddie’s interview with Radio Borsetshire on Wednesday…

Sunday: A treat for Ian
Monday: Mike’s in doubt
Tuesday: Rosa spills the beans
Wednesday: Eddie hits the airwaves
Thursday:  Matt means business
Friday: Vicky’s in a tizz

Puppy love: Jamie and Rosa?
Utterly devoted: Ian and Adam?

As the wonderful Olympic Games draw to a close, scores are totted up and results mulled over, but who’s topping the Ambridge table and who’s not fit to compete?

It looks like Adam is finally going to settle his score with Brian, but will Jennifer get the result she wants? Brian’s competitive spirit has risen to the fore and sportsmanship has gone out of the window – the final result is anyone’s guess. Meanwhile, having carved a notch into his bedpost, Pawel seems keen to score again, but is Adam ready to retire?

Knowing the score

Elsewhere in Ambridge… It’s finally time for Jamie to discover whether he’s made the grade. If he doesn’t get the results he was looking for, there may be other ways to score... Fallon falls at the last hurdle, but she gave it her all… Decent Darrell is all for fair play, but Matt’s torn up the rule book leaving Darrell in danger of being disqualified… Mike’s put to the test, while Vicky hopes she’ll pass her checks with flying colours… it’s The Archers!

Three’s a crowd on Monday, it’s results day for Jamie on Thursday, and Vicky faces her fears on Friday…

Sunday: Mike gets mail
Monday: A reward for Rosa
Tuesday: Pip performs
Wednesday: Matt’s feeling macho
Thursday:  Jamie gets jealous
Friday: The pickers party on

Game: Vicky
Set: Brian
Match: Adam and Pawel?...

32 medals

Tasters for 5-10th August 2012

The Olympics are in full swing this week and as Team GB climb the medal board, the folk of Ambridge try to win each other over…

Matt thinks he and Lilian are sitting on a gold mine – they just need to dig. One of their properties could be worth its weight in gold, but can they make it pay, and at what cost? As he crosses Darrell’s palm with silver, Matt wishes he’d been born with a silver spoon in his mouth!

Good as gold…

Also going for gold, the silver-tongued Brian attempts to win over Adam, but he’s seriously brassed off. Ian tries to convince him that their life in Ambridge tops the table, but Adam insists that all that glitters isn’t gold. Brian may have to accept that you just can’t win them all and console himself with the thought that every cloud has a silver lining…

Elsewhere, Phoebe would give her mum a bronze at best, but thankfully Roy and Hayley are there to coach her through her troubles; Eddie tries to spin boar meat into gold; Vicky is a gold mine of information and Mike has a heart of gold. If you want to strike gold turn to Radio 4… it’s The Archers!

Don’t miss Sunday’s episode when a truth is revealed and a shocking secret stays under wraps!

Sunday: Adam absconds
Monday: Matt wants to maximise
Tuesday: Vicky’s in good voice
Wednesday: Birthday blues for Shula
Thursday:  Eddie entertains
Friday: Elona counts her blessings

Going for gold: Matt
Silver fox: Brian
Bronze aged man: Eddie
