Tasters for 25-30th March 2012

Some superstitious folk believe that taking a photo captures the soul of the sitter, but Lynda for one is getting ready for her close-up…

Photos change hands at Bridge Farm this week as family ties tighten. How would Tom feel about a piccie of Rich, propped up on the mantelpiece next to his? It may only be a matter of time... Just wait ‘til news spreads through the family about this missing link to John; their faces will be a picture! Rich-the-ready-made-Grandson (makes a change from Tom’s pork ready-meals) could be a picture perfect addition to the Archer family. He certainly seems to have restored Tony to the picture of health!

In the frame

Brian is increasingly desperate to secure the B.L. Board’s backing, but will they be able to grasp the bigger picture he’s painting? They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so perhaps Brian should show them a series of giant pound signs? He’s just not in the right frame of mind to deal with their concerns, but he’ll have to snap out of it for the sake of the project. Meanwhile, Adam is still well out of the picture, it looks like Amy has been snapped up, and James is firing up his camera to capture Ambridge at it’s best. Ready for your daily snapshot of life in a farming community?… It’s The Archers!

Listen on Sunday for a big day at Bridge Farm, and get the gossip with Alice on Wednesday…

Sunday: A perfect day for Pat

Monday: Brian drives on
Tuesday: Ruth gets ready
Wednesday: Alice does some digging
Thursday: Jamie gets his way
Friday: Tony takes nothing for granted

In the frame: Rich
Out of the picture: Adam

Tasters for 18th-23rd March 2012

A few pause to relax on Mothering Sunday, but most noses are to the grindstone in Ambridge this week …

The Archers family’s hard work is finally paying off at Bridge Farm as the books begin to balance. For Helen, however, a woman’s work is never done; she has her work cut out, attempting to unite the family. They say it’s not the work that kills, but the worry. Let’s hope Tom and Helen’s plan works like a charm, before anxiety gets the better of them and they end up like Tony!

Meanwhile, having worked themselves up into a state, David and Ruth are now ready to work their fingers to the bone at Brookfield. Building up a head of steam, they can at last feel hopeful that things will work out – fingers crossed!

Working a treat

If all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy then Brian certainly isn’t in the mood to party. As Jennifer worries about his stress levels and despite hours of hard grind, it looks like the hard work is only just beginning as protesters threaten his precious dairy project.

They say the devil finds work for idle hands, but Eddie is set to work this week to make up for past sins. A bristling Vicky makes sure she gets her money’s worth, having been diddled at the promises auction. It’s all in a day’s work, but now it’s your chance to relax and unwind… it’s The Archers!

Eddie gets his comeuppance on Wednesday, and listen in for a surprise on Friday…

Sunday: Helen works her magic
Monday: Pat’s feeling positive
Tuesday: Brian calls for help
Wednesday: Eddie gets to work
Thursday: Debbie deserts the dairy?
Friday: Annabelle gives advice

Working it out? Tom & Helen, Ruth & David
Working up a lather: Brian, Eddie

Tasters for 11-16th March 2012

As snowdrops give way to daffodils, Spring is in the air in Ambridge but, while some folk have a spring in their step, others have lost their suspension…

Hope springs eternal for Helen and Tom as they plot to please their parents. Tony has sprung back to life after his operation, but Pat tries to get him to take things steadily – she doesn’t want him to snap! Jennifer, meanwhile, is painfully aware that Brian is no spring chicken. As the sap begins to rise, so do Brian’s stress levels, and Jennifer wonders whether he will live to see another winter at this rate! Protests at the market certainly aren’t good for Eddie’s health either, but hopefully he’ll soon bounce back – perhaps the birthday bumps will help?

The joys of spring

Compliments spring forth from Jim like water from a fountain this week but, not used to such gushing, his oddly positive observations are met with deep suspicion. Thankfully friends are on hand to spring to his defence, but not before a few feathers are ruffled… Over at Brookfield, downhearted David and his woeful wife spring into action after a productive meeting. As the seasons change they reassess their rota, getting ready to change with the times. Are you full of the joys of spring? You will be… it’s The Archers!

Mike loses his temper on Tuesday, and Eddie has an eventful birthday on Thursday…

Sunday: Alice hatches a plan
Monday: Jim’ll fix it?
Tuesday: Mike gets mean
Wednesday: Jamie plays games
Thursday: Eddie gets the bumps
Friday: Helen has high hopes

A spring in their step: Tom & Helen
In suspense: Brian

Tasters for 4-9th March 2012

The folk of Ambridge are determined to be heard this week, but is anybody listening?...

All Brian wants is a little peace and quiet, but our favourite villagers are in good voice. Brian can’t hear himself think and, no matter what he says, some people just won’t listen to reason. Rather than reach for the megaphone, perhaps he should stop, look and listen before he finds himself in a whole world of trouble?

Double-talk

Elsewhere in Ambridge… David asks difficult questions while Ruth stuffs her fingers in her ears, Brenda has wise words for Tom whose actions speak louder than his words, and Clarrie and Susan keep quiet while a silver-tongued Jim tries to lead them astray. For crying out loud, there’s plenty of gossip, but the folk of Ambridge must keep schtum. Listen up… it’s The Archers!

Don’t miss the action on Tuesday as Brian gets hot under the collar, while Jim rises to the challenge on Friday…

Sunday: Tony finds the force
Monday: Ruth watches the clock
Tuesday: Kirsty let’s rip
Wednesday: Adam advises the enemy
Thursday: Emma feels anxious
Friday: Jim gets going

Quiet as a mouse: Tony, Adam, Susan (well she’s trying…)
Fighting to be heard: Brian, Kirsty, Ruth
