The folk of Ambridge get wheeling and dealing this week, but who’s quids in and who’s left counting the pennies?...
Debbie descends to sell the dairy project to the residents of Ambridge, but does she have the power to convince? Stepping into the Village Hall is as terrifying as entering the Dragon’s Den! Brian’s invested a lot of time and money in this development and, as the Alan Sugar of Ambridge, his reputation’s riding on it. While some welcome the promise of big business in the village, others think Brian is a sell out. Adam tries to keep out of it, having been sold down the river by his nearest and dearest…
Down to business
Alan does a roaring trade at the Promises Auction as everyone digs deep for charity. Bids come in for Harry like nobody’s business, while Lynda’s offer goes down like a lead balloon. Not for the first time, Eddie is accused of funny business, but on the whole the day is a great success. Elsewhere… Jim gets to grips with the figures, Tom tries the hard sell and hopes it’ll pay off, Tony feels past his sell-by-date, and Pat gets an unexpected bonus… it’s The Archers!

Tasters for 12 – 17th February 2012
Love is in the air in Ambridge this week, but while some folk are immune to Cupid’s bow and arrow, others revel in the romance…
Tom gets stuck in to business at Bridge Farm: it’s a labour of love but he’s hopelessly devoted. Meanwhile, a downhearted David has set his heart on a new slurry tank, but for love nor money he can’t work out how to pay for it. He and Tony get together for a good old grumble, but then misery does love company...
There’s no love lost between Adam and Brian this week as they test the boundaries of their love-hate relationship. They say all’s fair in love and war, but then they probably haven’t met Brian, who will do anything to push the project through. Still, they say that ‘desires are nourished by delays’, so perhaps Brian’s long wait to get the dairy off the ground will simply sharpen his desire. However, others believe ‘hope deferred makes the heart sick’, and Brian’s heart is clearly set on it.
Love Birds
Love in the Carter household is not only blind, but broke as well. While Will spoils Nic rotten on Valentine’s Day, Chris and Alice prove that love needs no money, content as they are in their little love nest. The soppy couple prove all those old wives wrong: ‘when poverty comes in at the door, love doesn’t fly out of the window’ and ‘a light purse doesn’t necessarily make a heavy heart.’ Sweet! It warms the cockles of your heart... Still, love can make you do the strangest things, as Alistair discovers when Shula does something she may regret. Is it possible Alistair is jealous? Now we get to the heart of the matter!
We hope you have a lovely and loving Valentine’s Day and if you are lovelorn take heart… it’s The Archers!
Get swept up in romance on Tuesday and grab yourself a slice of birthday cake on Thursday.
Sunday: Tracy goes green
Monday: Pat makes plans
Tuesday: Romance is in the air
Wednesday: Shula has a spending spree
Thursday: Tom is tenacious
Friday: Pip presses on
Feeling the love: Will and Nic, Chris and Alice
Lovelorn: Brian, Shula
