Elizabeth was born in 1967 and is the youngest of Phil and Jill’s children. She was born with a hole in the heart, and needed two major operations before she was completely cured. She failed her 11-plus and was sent to Cherrington Manor School as a boarder. She quickly became the naughtiest girl in the school, and in 1984 she was expelled when she was caught drinking under age. She enrolled at Borchester Technical College to do her A-levels, and decided on journalism as a career. She got a job on the Borchester Echo, and then moved on to the Birmingham Evening News.
An affair with Ambridge bad-boy Cameron Fraser ended in disaster when he abandoned her, pregnant, at a motorway service station and disappeared, still wanted by the police for criminal fraud. Shula and Mark offered to adopt the baby, and Nigel Pargetter offered marriage but Elizabeth went ahead with termination.
She accepted a job as marketing manager at Lower Loxley and eventually, Nigel proposed to her again, and this time she accepted. They were married in 1994, and twins, Frederick and Lily, were born in 1996.
Elizabeth fought hard for her inheritance but had to give in with bad grace when Jill and Phil handed Brookfield Farm over to David and Ruth. Now she's embroiled in a further row as Matt Crawford has put in a bid for some Brookfield land and she wants her share.
Elizabeth was a staunch friend to Siobhan Hathaway which Debbie has not yet forgiven. Traces of the old intemperate Lizzie still surface from time to time although Nigel has had a generally calming effect.
